May 2014  ~ "The Tightrope Walk" ~

 

The intensity of April spills over as the second eclipse (Solar Eclipse in Taurus) on Apr. 29th/30th is still delivering news into May and beyond. Eclipse 'news' has likely started to make its way in for you and/or others around you.  News of doors slamming shut, jolting nerves and lives as they do. News of other doors whooshing open, bringing fresh air and new opportunities.

 

The climax of the Cardinal Grand Cross (crazy-intense tangled angles in the April sky) has broken, having brought to maximum capacity deep challenges and now the whispers of resolutions.  The areas of life most affected have been the 'Big Four': self, relationships, home and family, work/career and life purpose. An aspect like this sets out to make successful tightrope walkers of us all.  Indeed although in certain moments one can feel sure things are happening just to be torturous, BALANCE and COHERENCE are the actual goals of all transits.

 

Mars retrograde in Libra, the sign of relationships, (March 1st - May 19th/20th) has turned focus backward and inward.  People and situations from the past make themselves unavoidable to revisit.  You may be making awesome headway in improving relationships through this looking back or realizing that nothing can shift the rift and coming to peace with that truth.  This time is fantastic for intentional work on self and relationship through counseling or other methods.

 

As the month moves on you will feel the rumble of your engines wanting to blaze forward as this planet that rules creative energies and life force shifts gears.  Just as soon as Mars goes direct, Mercury is into its retrograde shadow period and so once again we feel the press to move forward flanked by delays or changes to plans. 

 

The key to mastering the combination of all of these energies is to remain calm and flexible.  If you are buying plane tickets, spring for the extra money for changeable flights.  For road trips, thoroughly check out and repair any potential car issues.  For all things, it's ok to make a plan but leave some 'breathing room' in to respond to any changes that come, as they likely will.  Leave as much looseness in your commitments to allow for the pending shifts in plans.  Maintain a high level of communication as ideas and plans take different shapes. Take any shifts in stride.  Humans tend to quest for 'permanence' in tangible things, situations, relationships and the lack of attainability of these things becomes very clear during transits such as these.

 

The middle of July through the middle of September is when the energy opens to better solidify plans and launch new things.  After that, November 10 through the end of the year is the next clear time for such things.  If you are planning launches, moves, new beginnings those windows are the best openings of the year to move forward.  If you are moving or making agreements outside of those window then for a move opt for temporary housing, if possible, or month-to-month lease, and for other agreements leave some flexibility so you can be ready when the opportunities for deeper stability and security open up to grab.

May 2nd -- Venus enters Aries -- Making spending EASY but not necessarily advisable.  Mars is still retrograde and Mercury retrograde shadow period is starting in this month making big purchases, especially ones that are not 'necessary' better to table until the middle of July.

 

May 3rd -- Sun in Taurus Trine Pluto in Capricorn -- Fantastic time to 'get to the bottom' of things.  Deeper focus and access to the resources of others and deep reservoirs within yourself are associated with this time.  This aspect in the Earth elements of Taurus and Capricorn bring a highly tangible nature to things discovered.  Accessing deeper levels of personal power is possible now, as well increased chance for associations of male energies supporting with resources, including information that may normally remain hidden to most.

 

May 6th -- Sun in Taurus Sextile Jupiter in Cancer -- Generosity, confidence, faith, optimism, clarity, and fun are the tag-lines of this transit. 

 

May 10th -- Sun in Taurus Opposing Saturn in Scorpio -- Schedule extra rest during the days around now.  Saturn has been known to sap life force energy when in this configuration with the Sun.  Also, clashes with authority figures are common.

 

May 11th -- Venus in Aries Opposing Mars in Libra -- Even if Mother's Day may have started out as a marketing ploy by Hallmark, it is still a great opportunity to acknowledge often overworked and underappreciated mothers!  Remember the special mom's in your life because it feels good, and also this year, do it because there will likely to be major fall-out if you don't.  Male Mars standing off with female Venus brings many possibilities for tensions between these energies.  Head some of the negative potentials with thoughtful and timely consideration of the female energies in your life.  Conflicts are likely to arise around the topics of passive vs. active parts within individuals and relationships.

 

 

May 14th -- Full Moon in Scorpio -- Drama, fullness, completion comes to something involving partnership, collaboration, research project, credit or debt topic. 

 

May 15th -- Mercury in Gemini Trine Venus in Aries -- Major good news potentials for money or love.

 

May 15th -- Mercury in Gemini Trine Uranus in Aries --Surprising news comes in, likely something positive.

 

May 15th --Venus in Aries Conjunct Uranus in Aries -- Anything can and will happen involving love and money now.  This wild card day of the year when the planet of love and money joins the electric planet of surprises and deviance can often bring memorable experiences but not ones that tend to have longevity in any place other than the mind or outcomes of deeds.  Apply extra caution around this time.  If you are considering a piercing or tattoo, hold off until this wild energy passes, to be better sure it is in-line with your long-term vision for yourself.

 

May 19th -- Mars Direct in Libra -- You will have started to feel this planet of forward motion and action preparing to change direction throughout this month. You may be chomping at the bit to propel forward with projects that have been brewing.  Proceed gingerly still, as Mercury retrograde shadow has begun and will carry additional implications for 'launches' and new things.  If you can hold off until the middle of July to blast forward, blazing saddles, I think you will be glad you did.  Caveats to this can come in the form of necessary 'responses' to Eclipse and Cardinal Grand Cross 'news'.  Responding to news is different than proactively doing something.

 

May 24th -- Jupiter in Cancer Trine Saturn in Scorpio -- This is the third and final time of this aspect (until 2026), which has been occurring over the last 2 years.  Opportunities to expand and solidly home and family will be strong.  A story that has been deepening over these last years come to a beautiful culmination, leaving as the flower of the process, a strong foundation for the family/home stories to come.

 

May 28th  -- New Moon in Gemini -- Make your 10 New Moon Wishes on the topics of improving communication, transportation, mobility, writing, speaking, expressing in any other ways, relatives that aren't your kids or parents, change, variety, learning,

 

May 28th  -- Venus Enters Taurus -- More conservative focus involving love and money.  Maybe paying off the spending spree from earlier in the month, or smoothing over things in relationship from problems caused by impulsiveness earlier in the month.
