Hello, -- I have special placements in my astrological chart that predispose me to collecting clutter. Wherever the origin, if you are surrounded by clutter and are ready to do something about it, I will share a method I created called "10 Things".
So often when trying to deal with the clutter situation, one can feel like they walk around moving things around but have trouble breaking the "matrix" of the scene. The way that I do it, and have helped others to do it, is by playing "10 Things".
Decide at this moment, that you aren't going to overwhelm yourself with the what seem like a titanic effort ahead, you are just going to deal with 10 items. These could be in a certain section of your house, or spread throughout the house. Pick up an easy item, like recycling, garbage, or something clearly that you are ready to have leave your house. Then put it in the appropriate pile. Pick up a second one, and do the same. If you start to feel resistance just remind yourself that you only have to deal with 10 things. I often find that at some point in dealing with the 10 items, I have a shift where it starts to feel really good. I rarely stop at 10 but knowing that there is a finite time frame helps me commit to it.
