Now onto more about the stars ahead...
March 2020 ~ SWEET FLOW & MAJOR MANIFESTATION
March continues the emotional Pisces energy that started up last month which will hopefully get balanced out with some helpful grounding from Venus and Mars in Earth signs. The abundance of Water and Earth transits make for many harmonious connections this month, these coupled with the retrograde energy which is strong all month, continues the theme of blessings from the
past.
As in February, we have a bunch of sextile angles, which are sweet ones that usually require some action to get the full benefit of the potential. I get the visual of manually juicing an orange, extracting all the sweet goodness with some quick, vigorous work.
There are a good bit more sweet aspects than salty ones this month with a bunch of the alignments being conjunctions, which could go either way. Conjunction means two planets are right at the same degree. When this happens, their energies blend which brings intensity that could be super positive, or really challenging. The abundance of Capricorn and Taurus alignment give
the chance for major manifestation.
I often use the visual of the web a spider has woven with the retrograde being a time to kick back and see what food comes in. I love keeping that in mind for this month. The Earth placements may mean that there is still a little more web-keeping to do to pull things through, but could also mean that past efforts bring major rewards for work already
done.
There is a nice uninterrupted string of sweet aspects running from March 11 through March 19, culminating in the New Moon in Aries which is the ASTROLOGICAL NEW YEAR! I love this time for planting seeds of any kind and the 19th (or really the actual New Moon, which could be on a different date depending on your time zone) is an especially potent time for Visionboards, where you
cut out photos (either with scissors or virtually online) that hold the essence of things that you want to bring more of into your life. I do want to mention with this that you can use this practice to focus on specific, material things, but also you can use it just for self-development, focusing on the essences or experiences you want to have more of that are not necessarily specific to the material realm.
The planetary combinations that are more likely to bring stress are concentrated in the first third and the last third of the month. It is like the month is a sandwich, with really yummy stuff in the middle, but the bread on the top and bottom is a little stale :)
The Mercury post-transit shadow period wears off more every day between March 9 and 30. We have few magical days of coming up for air from the inward and backward focus of the personal planet retrogrades from March 30 through Apr 9. Please note these dates as I think in the last email there was a typo saying the window only went through April 2. After that
we dive daily deeper into the pre-transit shadow period of Venus retrograde. I have a TON of resources on this transit to help you prepare. So if you have to fit in important decisions or launches, your most clear time for a while is the very end of March and the beginning of April. I have links for these resources later in this newsletter.
Sweet boosts are more likely on or around these days: 4, 5, 9, 11, 14, 19, 20, 22, 23, 24, 27, 28, 31.
Drama or stress are more likely in the days around: 3, 5, 9, 20, 22, 23, 25, 31.

** Note: Often the effects of planetary transits are felt before or after the actual day the transit occurs. Also note that dates may shift a day or so depending on your time zone. Also note that general transits can effect people differently depending on many factors, including transits to the individuals personal
charts.
March 3 — Venus in Aries Square Saturn in Capricorn — Some stress in money, love, or self-certainty often comes with this transit. Delays or obstacles can seem unsurmountable but know that the effects of this line-up usually only span a few days so smile knowing that this too shall pass.
March 4 — Mercury in Aquarius Sextile Venus in Aries — This aspect can bring closer bonds in relationships and harmonious interactions. I am hoping that this one brings a smooth outcome to whatever may come up from the aspect the day before.
March 8 — Sun and Neptune Conjunct in Pisces — Expect increased sensitivity now, for better and worse. If you are feeling vulnerable, avoid people who may try to take advantage of you. Guard your security on all levels now. Some great manifestations of these energies can be: artistic inspiration, vivid and interesting dream time, spiritual insights, dreamy
romance, or a restful getaway.
March 8 — Venus and Uranus Conjunct in Taurus — Emotional, romantic, or financial security can be seriously jostled now OR inventive solutions can come in to resolve or improve these areas of life. Surprises in love and money are more likely. This transit does tend to bring excitement, which could go either way.
March 9 — Full Moon at 19° of Virgo — Drama, completion, fruition come to all things Virgo - health, pets, daily routine, office dynamics and more. See ways you can use this astrological power period best in my blog Full Moon in Virgo Reveal & Release Ceremony.
March 9 — Mercury Direct at 28° of Aquarius — Changes to plans are more likely now. Keeping plans light and flexible can bring greater flow. The post-transit shadow period runs until March 30. More clarity and ease in making plans will likely come as we get closer to that time.
March 11 — Sun in Pisces Sextile Jupiter in Capricorn — This beautiful transit can bring spiritual and material growth, optimism, and ease.
March 14 — Mars in Capricorn Sextile Neptune in Pisces — Synchronicities and blessings often accompany this transit resulting in ease and flow. In this period of time you may make up for some seeming ‘lost time’ over the retrograde.
March 14 — Sun in Pisces Sextile Pluto in Capricorn — Financial and emotional support often comes with this transit. Burdens can be eased and tensions can melt away from the help of someone else.
March 19 — Sun in Pisces Sextile Saturn in Capricorn - Another sweet aspect with Cap planets this month can make things gel in magical ways.
March 20 — Mars and Jupiter Conjunct in Capricorn — Mars energies are multiplied by the addition of Jupiter and since this occurs in Capricorn, the energy is all about getting down to business. If you have been waiting through the retrograde to get some things done, major headway can occur now. There is still some more time that Mercury is regaining full
speed but this transit can bring impetus, focus, organization, and zeal to make things happen so go with your flow if you are feeling it! There is the possibility that the combination of energies could bring intense scrutiny. Try to take anything that comes in constructively and use the energy of the transit to make necessary changes. Something very consequential could materialize now!
March 19 — Astrological New Year! - The astrological new year begins now!
March 21 — Saturn enters Aquarius until March 2023! — Saturn was in Capricorn (its sign of rulership) from December 19, 2017 through today. Extra sternness and heaviness could have been present from the exaggerated energies of the planet being in its own sign. At the same time, significant material gains could have been made over the years of the transit.
Saturn now moves into Aquarius, bringing its taskmaster approach to technology and all other futuristic visions. Regulations and reorganization of current models of how we use these tools is likely for the world and down to the individual use. For many individuals this will mean major adjustments to use of technology and all related arenas (such as social media). Friendships, social circles, our place in the group could all be put to the test causing shifting to alliances of more
resonance or solidification and strengthening of ties that pass the tests.
March 22-23 — Mars and Pluto Conjunct in Capricorn — This is a magnificent aspect for soaring ambition and major accomplishment. Because of the aggressive side of both of these planets, this combo can also be a red flag. This is not the time to agitate someone already on edge as it could get dangerous. Have extra awareness as you navigate this
time. Try to keep well rested and keep distractions low so you can tune into any subtle information that could help you navigate around a potential problem. It is a good time to put your phone away while driving and only text or talk when your body is safe and stationery. While pair-up can bring stress and drama, it is equally likely to bring triumph and fruition. Work done in the past can be culminating in a magical way now and this alignment could bring fame, fortune,
or plant the seeds for this in the future.
March 24 — New Moon at 4• of Aries — Kick off party for the Astrological New Year (that started March 19) - This is one of the best astrological power periods of the year to do Visionboards! It is the spark that changes the season starts the year and can be a major catalyst. Make the most of your 10 New Moon wishes! See my blog, Making Powerful New Moon in Aries Wishes.
March 25 — Sun and Chiron Conjunct in Aries — Chiron can often bring up the feeling of woundedness and in Aries especially guard your physicality. If some hurt comes up (on any level), know that this aspect is usually short-lived and will likely shift very soon.
March 27-28 — Venus in Taurus Trine Jupiter in Capricorn AND Venus in Taurus Trine Pluto in Capricorn— Put a big star on these! — If you need a mega-launch time, this is it! Mercury is just about back at full potency and we are not yet in the Venus retro shadow PLUS the ruler of expansion and luck getting together with the ruler of love and money, makes it a great
time to do anything important in either of these arenas :) Blessings, expected and surprise, could come in now without you having to do anything to get them and you can also actively harness this time to lock in something important.
March 31 — Mars and Saturn Conjunct in Aquarius — Like the transit on the 22/23 with Mars and Pluto, this one is a mixed bag. A conjunction is a neutral connection so when planets align like this, the manifestations can go either way. Ambition, stamina, and focus can be really high as can the drive to do something to permanently improve your situation
or improve the greater good. Accomplishment is very likely. There is also a darker side of this potential. The aggression of Mars and heaviness of Saturn can combine in unpleasant ways. This is a time to have extra care. Observation and intuition could steer you around potential issues.
Here is a repost of my special retrograde segment I posted in last months newsletter. I am thinking it will be good to repost the parts of this that are relevant each month so you have it readily available:
Mercury goes retrograde on February 17 at almost 13° of Pisces, going back to 28° of Aquarius on March 10 then turning back direct that day (with the post-shadow period going until March 20). Note that depending on your time zone, these days can be shifted a bit forward or backward. To understand Mercury retrograde more deeply and see the actions to use caution with, check out
my video Must-Know’s for Mercury Retrograde.
Here are some important pieces to making the most of personal planet retrogrades:
Foundational Understandings:
1. The “personal planets” that go retrograde are Mercury, Venus, and Mars, so it is these that I am referring to when I use that term.
2. “Retrograde” refers to a time when the appearance of the orbit of a planet appears to us on Earth like it is going backwards in the sky.
3. Personal planet retrogrades often coincide with an increase in certain types of occurrences and experiences making these times notably great for certain things and challenging for other types of things. To better understand which specifics for each retrograde, see my video Must-Know’s for Mercury
Retrograde. Also see my video Venus Retrograde Must-Know’s (by the way this, to my knowledge, is the most viewed video about Venus retrograde on Youtube), and my video Must-Know’s for Mars Retrograde.
4. There is a time before and after each retrograde called “shadow periods” where the things that go along with the retrograde start to show up more frequently even though it is not officially retrograde yet.
5. People who were born in a personal planet retrograde cycle often have the opposite effects during the retrograde as others who don’t. People born in the actual retrograde cycle can see this in their charts as there is a marking on the birth chart that shows when a planet was retrograde and when it was direct. Those born in a “shadow period” need a more in-depth analysis to
discover this truth as it won’t be evident on the chart and needs to be calculated with an ephemeris. (Fun side note about this is that I am working with an awesome publisher to bring out an exciting new astrology book in 2020 and in this book I will show you how to figure this out ;) ) In the meantime, I always recommend observing and experimenting to see how using your energy in different ways during the retrograde has worked out in the past and how it manifests in the
present.
6. Understanding the energies of the retrograde and how your personal wiring syncs up with the cycle can help you to have an awesome time when each planet is direct AND retrograde because you will line up your actions with the natural rhythm.
Retrograde Misconceptions Cleared Up:
- Misconception #1 ~ “I can’t do ANYTHING during personal planet retrogrades”. Totally not true!! There are a ton of things that have even more support in retrograde times than in direct cycles. Here is a blog giving lots of details about many things awesome to do during p.p.r.’s Maximizing Personal Planet Retrogrades. Even the things that are known to not be best to do in the retrogrades all have caveats and ways to work with them so there is much gray area.
2. Misconception #2 ~ “I dread the retrogrades, they have to be terrible!” Also not true! Many people have become out of sync with natural rhythms, not tuning into intuition and the Divine signs that whisper. It IS true that if you push against the tide trying to put your boat out during a strong incoming tide, you will get tired,
frustrated, and more likely to not reach your goal of getting out to sea but if you understand when these different phases of the natural cycle are occurring and you actively sync up with them, then things can be easier, more fun, fulfilling, and productive.
