April 2017 ~ Wrap It Up
As I was pondering the planetary energies of April to write this, a quote flashed on a screen before me, "There is more to life than increasing its speed. ~ Mahatma Gandhi". I smiled big as it beautifully encapsulates this last month of five months in a row of deep retrograde
lessons.
Rather than blasting forward in the outer world, the focus for this month is to use the impetus, drive, motivation, brought by the productive fire and earth
energies to wrap up unfinished business closer to home and even closer within the self.
Personal planets (Mercury, Venus, Mars) retrograde times are often confused
with being times to do nothing. This couldn't be further from the truth. The truth of these times isn’t to do nothing, but for some it will be to do less and for most it will favor actions taken that are focused on things closer to self/home/relationship/personal affairs vs. out in the
world. In business it favors going back over things already established and staying the course for things already in motion. The the energy is also good for dabbling, aka, “trying things on” that are low stakes, in love, money, or appearance. Note that the ‘low stakes’ piece is key. The personal planets are
those closest to our planet and they represent our internal, domestic, daily, mundane, affairs. Taking action on cleaning out, wrapping up, managing, organizing these areas of life is the perfect way to use energy at this time.
As Mars moves into Gemini towards the end of the month signs of the forward movement in the outer world that is brewing for May through July becomes more evident. Holding strong on an internal and domestic to-do list through April will bring even sweeter launches into the outer realms of life coming soon.
Some bursts of sweet energy could come in on or near: April 5, 6, 10, 13, 14, 16, 17, 19, 20, 24, 26, 28. Expect some opportunities to create gold from lead on the days around: April 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 13, 14, 19,
20, 21, 28, 30.

April 5-6 — Mars in Taurus Trine Pluto in Capricorn — Action and transformation blend beautifully at this time. A perfect time for massive inward productivity.
April 5-6 — Saturn Retrograde in Sagittarius (through August 25) — Retrogrades of outer planets (the ones further from us) are different than those of the inner planets. Outer planet retrogrades often give a break from the big lessons of the Titans of the Universe. Saturn is the diligent taskmaster, which I affectionately and accurately call a "Chopbuster", as it is calling for nonstop attention to detail and hard work. Starting now we have
almost a four-month break from the hard push through Sagittarius, bringing more wiggle room and breaks from the meticulous rigors of the Universes’ unemotional disciplinarian.
April 7 — Sun in Aries Opposing Jupiter in Libra — Personal interests conflict with those of a close personal relationship. This could bring a little stress but it passes
quickly.
April 8 — Venus in Pisces Square Saturn in Sagittarius — This second square in the three part series that begun at the end of January brings a continuation of the conflict with self-esteem, love, beauty, finances that popped up at the end of January this year. The third and final pass comes later this month. Often if sufficient action was
taken in the first pass, this run-in could be lighter.
April 8 — Sun in Aries Square Pluto in Capricorn — Impulsive restlessness conflicts with an external force demanding that you ask deeper questions.
April 9 — Mercury Retrograde in Taurus then
Aries (through May 3) — The planet that rules communication and transportation takes a dip back in the signs that rule money, values, and the physical body. Actions that start with the prefix "re" come into the forefront especially as applied to these areas of life ~ re-generate, re-write, re-do, re-vise, re-check, re-evaluate, and re-st.
April 10 —
Full Moon at 21 degrees of Libra (Conjunct Jupiter, Square Pluto) — Fullness, completion, fruition comes to things involving relationships. Full moons tend to come with high emotions, for better, or worse, or both. The challenged aspect to Pluto brings intensity. The conjunction with Jupiter amplifies all possible effects.
April 13-14
— Sun in Aries Conjunct Uranus in Aries — Jostling surprises come with this union. Sudden insights or breakthroughs are common with this combo, as are jolts to the physical body. Especially guard the head and brain.
April 15 — Venus Direct in Pisces — The last phase of the Venus retrograde, the post-retrograde shadow period begins (ending
completely on May 19). This phase features integration and the working out of kinks in the wrapping up of chapters involving love and money.
April 16 — Venus in Pisces Sextile Mars in Taurus — A harmonious blending of male and female energies occurs now. Resolutions from previous challenges could start to make themselves
evident.
April 17 — Sun in Aries Trine Saturn in Sagittarius — Long-term goals could have signs of coming to fruition now. Hard work from the past could start to show up in measurable ways.
April 19-20
— Sun in Taurus Conjunct Mercury in Taurus — This transit could bring a dose of realism. Alternatively, determination and creativity could come together in magical ways.
April 20 — Pluto Retrograde in Capricorn (through September 28) — Pluto, ruler of the under and inner world, loves to be
retrograde. His work here is very deep, sometimes almost imperceptible to the consciousness.
April 21 — Venus in Pisces Square Saturn in Sagittarius — This is the last conflict in this series of three that started at the end of January. Resolutions and decisions based on conflicts or challenges over this time may soon follow. There will be
one more Venus/Saturn square this year, but with Venus in Virgo instead of Pisces.
April 24 — Mercury in Aries Trine Saturn in Sagittarius — This transit can bring great news and information that is relevant to long-term stability and goals.
April 26 — New Moon at 6 degrees in Taurus — This New Moon is brings opportunities for new beginnings for finances, sustainability, earth-related projects, luxurious living and more. Wishes made on topics ruled by Taurus will carry further at this time.
April 28 — Mercury in Aries Conjunct Uranus in Aries —
Surprising news comes in, for better or worse. Electrifying awarenesses and insights could also come in. Guard your head. This transit is great for brainstorming sessions.
April 30 — Saturn in Sagittarius Square Chiron in Pisces — Opportunities to extend forgiveness to self or others may come now.
Chiron usually brings the feeling of woundedness and Saturn wants bring maturity. Because of the angle of the connection, it is likely that the way this opportunity comes in will lack "bedside manner".
