February 2017 ~ The Tiptoe Water
Test
Retrogrades are the Universe’s answer to
the maniacal “bigger, better, faster, more” trend of the times. It can be uncomfortable for individuals hellbent on moving forward when we have times like now, where the focus is off of outer expansion and more on being present with what is now clearing up situations based in the past, and preparing for the future.
February is technically free from personal planets being retrograde, but an astrologically-educated or energetically-sensitive person knows that this is not
truly a time intended for focus on charging forward with long-term commitments, it is more of a time to test the waters. That doesn’t mean that some positive momentum won’t or can’t naturally flow, however the key point here is where you put your primary focus. these times necessary keys for powerful transformation. Decisions can be made, plans implemented, but use the tiptoe water test principle (vs. a committed plunge)
- feel into things, try things in, do experiments, make short-term commitments (like no more than 4-6 months) if possible for most ease and grace. The eclipses this month will very likely bring change, which can range anywhere between sought after to highly unwelcome, however only instigate this change cautiously.
**The best way to deal with eclipses is to be the spider, and let the change come to you.
Venus moving
into Aries will bring major urge to do something, especially involving love, artistic endeavors, and money. See what comes to you, instead of looking for the forward movement and make agreements and arrangements that present as flexible as possible, leaving lots of room to ‘try on and experiment’. Much will change over the the official Venus retrograde time in March and April,
followed by the second Mercury retrograde of 2017, April 9 - May 3.
Err on the cautious, casual, laid back side of the options. Going back over anything from the past - editing, reviewing, re-doing, resting, reconsidering, reworking, and most other things that start with ‘re’. Individual healing and couples therapy or activities,
clearing clutter emotionally, mentally, environmentally, spiritually, and physically (in the form of detoxing protocols) are all very much indicated and supported at this time and in the coming months. Crafting (or any art form), writing, creating anything behind the scenes (out of the public eye), hobbies of any kind, retreats, deep study, learning and teaching of any kind, are also strongly indicated this month and in the months to
come. This period of time is a true ‘artistic wonderland’. Another great thing to do during this time is back-up your files. Many people will have the retrogrades ‘take away’ their important work, you can head off this possibility by doing due diligence in this department now.
Themes coming up now are likely ones from the past and ones that will be in your face to deal with over the upcoming months. Things that were swept under the rug will be blown out, swirling around, commanding
attention. Choosing to really give these things the attention they ask for will make this period of time more productive and set up a more fulfilling future.
Some days carrying sweetness include February 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16, 20, 21, 23, and 26. Some times to expect challenges or excess emotions: February 2, 5, 10, 22, 26, and 27.
Check out more February Highlights:
** Note: often the effects of planetary transits are felt before or after the actual day the transit occurs.
February 2 — Mercury in Capricorn Square Jupiter in Libra — This transit often brings too much information to process or a small amount that somehow seems overwhelming It can also encourage one to
exaggerate details, or commit to something that is impossible to carry through.
February 3 — Venus enters Aries — When Venus is in Aries it carries the energies of rushing in or impulsive decisions especially for things related to love, money, beauty, or expensive aesthetic choices. There could be some good moves that come from this energy but with the
eclipses so close and the retrograde energies still so present as a theme, be very sure to align with things you feel sure are led by your Higher Self.
February 5 — Jupiter goes retrograde in Libra — Jupiter now joins the retrograde party. This will bring more backward motion for relationships, art projects, and everything else ruled by Libra, and anything related to international business/connections/studies, teaching, learning, writing,
publishing, spiritual or religious studies, and everything else ruled by Sagittarius. Those with prominent Sagittarius placements will see an additional dive inwards and backwards with their ruling planet switching directions.
February 9 — Sun in Aquarius Sextile Uranus in Aries — Anything innovative or idiosyncratic thrives at this time. Stretching into something different can bring great delights. Use caution here knowing that this advice rules things that
have minimal consequence, not major decisions.
February 10 — Full Moon at 22° Leo/Lunar Eclipse — This is a continuation of theLeo/Aquarius cycle that started in the middle of 2016 and runs through half of 2019. The last time we experienced this eclipse cycle was from 2008-2009. Remembering back to the themes that took place over those years will give you some insight into the areas of life that will be getting ‘worked on’ through this eclipse
cycle. Full Moon’s/Lunar Eclipses usually bring some sort of ending, coming to fruition, completion, and often strong emotion, drama, or challenges. Sometimes the emotion could be bittersweet, something sought after and accomplished, and sometimes the endings feel sudden and out of our conscious control. Matters involving conception, pregnancy, childbirth, childrearing will be very common for this eclipse cycle as Leo rules these areas of life. For some the focus will be
on a creative project other than children or a romantic experience.
February 10 — Mercury in Aquarius Sextile Venus in Aries — An interesting piece of news may come in now regarding love, beauty (including art projects), or money. This is a short-term boost but coincides with the Eclipse the same day that could have much longer lasting effects.
February 11 — Sun in Aquarius Trine Jupiter in Libra — Sizzling
expression that feels ‘larger than life’ can occur with this transit. Creativity and ingenuity sparkle, expanded by Jupiters tendency to amplify.
February 13-14 — Sun in Aquarius Sextile Saturn in Sagittarius — Someone older, wiser, more established, or with expanded resources can aid your creative expression now. Even in the midst of the retrogrades, some important seeds for long-term positive outcomes can take place now. This is a sweet
energy for Valentine’s Day festivities.
February 16 — Mercury in Aquarius Sextile Mars in Aries — Action and expression join now resulting in triumphant productivity.
February 20 — Mercury in Aquarius Sextile Uranus in Aries — An influence from the past can place you in a situation with major insights come from sparkling conversations.
February 21 — Mercury in Aquarius Trine Jupiter in Libra — Connections are expanded;
expression is amplified; potential new universes are born from important social interactions.
February 22 — Mars in Aries Square Pluto in Capricorn — Major caution here as two to the aggressive bullies of the cosmos interact in an unpleasant say. Especially guard your head, intestines, and sexual organs. Major rule of thumb for this time - don’t antagonize someone or something that is ready to blow.
February 23 — Mercury in Aquarius Sextile
Saturn in Sagittarius — More seeds for long-term expansion. Practicality meets innovation in wonderful ways.
February 26 — New Moon in Pisces at 8° of Pisces/Solar Eclipse — This is the last Eclipse in the Pisces/Virgo Eclipse cycle that started in early 2015. Closure from themes that started then start to come in now. There could be up to a 4-6 month integration period for full closure of the story. New beginnings or outcomes enjoyed from the work of
the previous years can occur especially in the areas of: sleep, meditation, emotional/mental/physical/spiritual healing, quiet time, spiritual studies, intuition, artistic expression, or addictions.
February 26 — Mars in Aries Conjunct Uranus in Aries — This is a surprise and forceful counterpart to the more gentle New Moon on the same day. Sudden insights, experiences, or news could change your trajectory in major ways.
February 27 — Mars in Aries
Opposing Jupiter in Libra — Action and expansion are at odds now. New openings that come in from the Eclipse will likely come to you rather than your having success in pushing for them.
