May 2016 ~ "The Benefic Awakens"
While the "wall of retrogrades" (Mars & Mercury)
that have been on the top on my talk list, are still fully active in May, there is a great event and other aspects from a gigantic and benevolent superstar, as well as a notable amount of coherent planetary aspects, all promising to spark some forward movement in the midst of the slowdown. It is important to note that this is still not the best time to INITIATE or LAUNCH projects or relationships of significance but it is a time when fruits from
your retrograde or pre-retrograde labors, will likely start to fall, ripe and juicy, for your enjoyment.
Jupiter, also called "The Great Benefic" awakens from his retrograde slumber on May 9, maintains a close proximity in a fabulous angle to Pluto, and receives a blessing from a trine with the Sun on May 3, and from the New Moon on May
6.
You may have noticed some major momentum in areas of your life that started late summer 2015, started to dissipate, or seem to disappear completely in January 2016. This is because Jupiter, which was blazing through Virgo during the last quarter of the 2015, went retrograde at the beginning of January. If you were paying attention to the story that
Jupiter was weaving, his blessings didn't go away completely, but his work became more "behind the scenes" bringing news and information that carried promise of future advancement, but it likely seemed that implementation of these new pieces was blocked or slow to yield tangible results.
All of that will change once Jupiter goes direct and is activated
further by the beautiful aspects listed above. Many will be affected by Jupiter's expansion, growth, opportunities, and/or luck in the area of health, daily routine, work/office circumstances, diet, medical diagnostics, yoga, nutrition, and pets and other animals, as these are areas ruled by Virgo. Each person will also have affects of Jupiter in other areas of life depending on the Solar and Natal chart houses that it is moving through. Note that sometimes Jupiter has to
EXPAND the PROBLEM before it can bring the resolution.
There are also many Earth Trines involving the Sun, Venus, and Mercury, all in Taurus, and the North Node, Moon, and Jupiter, all in Virgo, and Pluto in Capricorn! A Trine is a 120-degree angle, which is thought to be the most coherent and favorable of all aspects in astrology. It is the type of angle that you
don't have to do much to receive, the blessings just roll in. This is perfect timing, since the retrograde theme continued by Mars and Mercury still warn of avoidance of initiating important things and recommend careful evaluation of opportunities that come in.
Mars in retrograde since April 17 and running through June 29 (with a shadow period that started in the

Mercury retrograde, April 28 - May 22, brings changes to plans, challenges to communications (and devices) and transportation (and
vehicles/other modes of transport). It is a great time to learn and catch up with friends and family who have been out of touch. Travel can be fine during this time, but flexibility and meticulous double-checking of all elements of the journey are necessary. The New Moon, Sun, and Venus in Taurus all bring a focus on hard work and enjoying the outcomes of it, as well as a great time to contemplate VALUE. The value of people, things, experiences are strongly under review now and
powerful insights will likely come in a surprising way.

Jupiter and Neptune and Opposing Saturn -- These are stressful aspects and this is Mother's Day in the U.S. An idea if your family gatherings tend to be stressful or loaded with negative possibilities, is to have time with Mom before, or after this day.
May 9 -- Jupiter Direct in Virgo -- Asleep since the beginning of January, The Great Benefic awakens now and gets back to
work improving the areas of life that started to gain momentum towards the end of last year.
May 21 -- Full Moon at 1 degree of Sagittarius -- Fullness, completion, fruition come to long-distance travel plans, publishing, writing, speaking, teaching, learning, religious or spiritual studies or experiences, things involving different countries or languages or any kind of international
connections.
May 22 -- Mercury Direct in Taurus -- Retrograde since April 28, the ruler of transportation and communication starts to get its groove back (but note that the post-retrograde shadow period runs through June 8). The several days around this date will likely carry a little extra confusion so plan accordingly.
May 30 -- Mercury in Taurus Trine Pluto in Capricorn -- This brings a time of powerful news, investigative discoveries, and breakthroughs!

May makes me think of my dear
friend Janine, whose birthday is in this month. I don't think I have yet told you about her yet. She has died several times, one time she was clinically dead for 7 minutes. She scared the living daylights out of the guy in the morgue when she came back!
One day, I will get our crazy schedules together to interview her
