January 2026 Astrology ~ Amazing Dates for Major New Year Decisions (Sweet & Salty Report for January 2026!)

TOP JANUARY POINTS:

1. January brings us back into balance with slightly more sweet aspects than salty. (Last month, we were grossly out of proportion with a ton of challenging aspects and much fewer sweet spots!) This month is also notable in the way that we have NINE aspects that could go either way! An aspect called a conjunction is not classically sweet or salty, but always INTENSE, for better, worse, or both! I will detail the worst of the worst and the best of the best in the second half of this newsletter. The first half of the month holds all but one of the nuisance aspects and the second half of the month hold all the sweet ones! It is weird that it lines up this way but this is just how it is. The Wild Card aspects that could go either way are scattered throughout the whole month so bursts of intensity will pop up throughout this powerful time of new beginnings.

2. WE LAUNCH INTO 2026 IN WIDE OPEN STARS! As of December 17, 2025 and until February 12, 2026, we have a beautiful open window free of personal planet retrogrades that will add robustness to the New Year and make it easier to launch into this year full of enthusiasm and discipline.

This month has many FANTASTIC ways to support big decisions and important steps forward!

The tides are FLOWING OUT all month and anything you put out there has a chance to expand far and wide. It is a great time for new births and new projects, and wonderful for bold new directions that require titanic energy to launch and sustain.

3. The Eclipse Story:

Mid January will start Eclipse season again and you will feel the ramping up of life-changing trajectory shifts brewing and strengthening.

4. This month is ALL about two signs ~ Capricorn and Aquarius.

The Sun will move through Capricorn from December 21, 2025 to January 20, 2026. Mercury will travel through Capricorn from January 1 to January 21. Both Venus and Mars begin their Capricorn transits at the end of December 2025—Venus continues in Capricorn until January 18, and Mars until January 24.

When so many planets gather in Capricorn, life tends to take on a tone of purpose, discipline, and steady progress. This is a time for structure and tangible results — for building, refining, and committing to what truly matters. The energy supports long-range planning, business moves, and practical magic — the kind that turns inspiration into form.

5. Aquarius season deepens as the month progresses…

The Sun will be in Aquarius from January 21 to February 18. Mercury will pass through Aquarius from January 21 to February 7. Venus enters Aquarius on January 18 and remains until February 11, while Mars continues its Aquarius journey from January 23 - March 3.

Once the planets flow into Aquarius, the atmosphere shifts from ambition to innovation. Ideas spark, collaborations form, and freedom becomes the new guiding light. Aquarius energy invites experimentation, vision, and community connection — it’s about breaking molds and building better systems for everyone involved. 

Under these skies, individuality shines brightest when it uplifts the collective. Expect flashes of insight, synchronicities around technology or friendships, and a strong urge to liberate yourself from the outdated. The majority of the sweet aspects this month come from personal planets: Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mars, making the ANGLE OF OPPORTUNITY with Transiting North Node in Pisces, Saturn in Pisces, and Neptune in Pisces.

All 4 of these inner planets will each kiss Saturn and Neptune, making 8 sweet aspects, you will start to feel the goodness in the days around January 14 and the energies will flow straight through until January 23 and linger a few days past then!

This connection is still in effect EVEN when Uranus is in Gemini and Neptune is in Aries! They have been dancing together in harmony for a while and we have this glorious connection to look forward to for a while more.
