  Sacred Geometry in Astrology ~ Aspects.

Astrology students often get confused between an Aspect and a Transit so I figured I would clarify these by focusing on one each in the mini-lessons. Last month I focused on Transits and now we will dive into Aspects and their sacred geometrical nature.

A transit is a movement of a heavenly body through a sign or astrology house. An aspect is a meaningful mathematical connection between two astrological points.

These aspects are like the gears of a clock clicking together for the perfectly timed event of the cuckoo popping out. Aspects are moments of Divine timing when portals to certain experience potentials open wide.

There are quite a few aspects we track in astrology but the main ones are Squares, Oppositions, Trines, and Sextiles. The first two tend to be challenged or bring points of stress or culmination that crack us out of a matrix. The last two are sweet spots when we are more lucky and sweet things are more likely to come to us.

The mathematical connections for each of these aspects is as follows:

Square: 90° or three signs apart

Opposition: 180° or six signs apart

Trine: 120° or four signs apart (these are in the same element)

Sextile 60° or two signs apart

Sacred geometry is the study of geometric patterns, shapes, and proportions that are considered to have spiritual, mystical, or symbolic significance. These shapes and patterns are often found in nature, art, architecture, and religious symbols. They are believed to represent the fundamental principles of the universe and the underlying order of creation. 

Sacred Geometry is found everywhere in life, from the DNA, to the mean distance between the planets. These beautiful, coherent patterns are proof to me of a benevolent source underlying all of life.

We can see this everywhere, including astrology.

Here are more details about how the meaningful sacred geometrical mathematical connections the stars make translate into energetic potentials:

The Trine (120 degrees):

• Geometry: Equilateral Triangle
• Meaning: Trines are harmonious aspects that indicate ease, flow, and positive energy between planets. The equilateral triangle is a symbol of balance and harmony, reflecting the nature of this aspect.

The Sextile (60 degrees):

• Geometry: Hexagon (six-pointed star)
• Meaning: Sextiles represent opportunities and supportive energy. The hexagon, or the Star of David, is a symbol of unity and integration, emphasizing the potential for constructive interactions between planets in this aspect.

The Square (90 degrees):

• Geometry: Square
• Meaning: Squares are challenging aspects that create tension and obstacles, requiring action and resolution. The square symbolizes structure and stability, highlighting the need to address and overcome difficulties.

The Opposition (180 degrees):

• Geometry: Line (Two points on opposite sides of a circle)
• Meaning: Oppositions indicate a dynamic tension between two planets, often manifesting as external conflicts or the need for balance and integration. This aspect reflects the duality and polarity present in many spiritual and natural systems.
