January 2024 ~ SATURN is in a GOOD MOOD bringing NEW YEAR BLESSINGS! + more

Here are some top points to know about the January 2024 Astrology. See my January 2024 Horoscope Videos/Podcasts  for more details and also in the date specific notes towards the end of this written report:

1. The SWEET aspects are slightly beating out the challenging ones this month. I will go into some of my faves below and a few to watch out for. (These are at the end of the report).
 

2. We begin the New Year still in a Mercury retrograde season. The pre-transit shadow period begins around November 26, Mercury goes officially retrograde December 12 and it is retrograde until January 1, 2024 (with the post transit shadow period stretching until January 21st).

That could give the New Year a bit of a sleepy start but some of that may be offset by giant Jupiter going direct on December 31, 2023. As Mercury interferes with some plans and planning, Jupiter will be awakening bigger-picture thinking and restoring flow to many things that went dormant in September 2023 when it went retrograde.

3. Strong Sagittarius energies continue into January. Venus still moving through the sign will bring the optimism, fun, education focus, and zealotry to the new month and new year. Zest for broadening and learning will be strong.

4. Capricorn energies dominate the month bringing focus and ambition. Capricorn time is the time to get down to business. Taxes and other year end and new year paperwork and any other tedious but necessary tasks come into the forefront now. Saturn is in a good mood! Saturn rules Capricorn and it is HIS time to SHINE now! Add to this a bundle of amazing aspects with either planets in Capricorn or with Saturn (ruler of Cap). Long-term goodness can be solidified in awesome ways. Powers of concentration are at an all-time high. A massive amount of productivity can occur in a very short time. Important, life-changing, material pieces can lock in gloriously now.

5. Aquarius energies start to flow in later in the month. January 21st brings a shift of the Sun into Aquarius. Joining your power into groups or communities can be a very worthwhile way to use this energy. Opportunities to connect with like-minded people will abound.

6. There are a lot of squares this month. Squares represent pressure points of taking necessary steps to reach or continue flow. Imagine you are flowing smoothly on a road but then you have to take a sharp turn. The awkwardness and stress of the process of slowing your flow and getting back up to speed after the turn is similar to this energy. You may feel a bunch of impediments to your flow this month but sometimes these pressure points are necessary to get you where you want to go!

Sweet boosts are more likely on or around these days: 9, 11, 12, 15, 18, 19, 27-28, and 29.

Drama or stress are more likely in the days around: 1, 3, 6, 8, 14, 19, 25, and 26-27.

January 1 ~ Venus in Sagittarius Square Saturn in Pisces ~

Venus in Sadge want freedom and flow in love and money. A penchant for excess in either is a mark of the transit, too :) BUT in comes Saturn (cranky from being in watery Pisces) and puts the kibosh on all of it. There is one way I can think of offhand that this could wind up a good thing - if you have really been needing to reign in your energy (and you have been making messes with to much freedom or excess) then Saturn can be your friend here :)

January 8 ~ Mercury in Sagittarius Square Neptune in Pisces ~

Mercury in Sadge will love freedom of speech. Often this energy represents honesty and flow in expression. Now add in the sensitivity of Neptune (energized by being in its own sign of Pisces!) and now feelings can start to get hurt and drama often ensues. Best advice here is to avoid touchy topics of discussion and if you don’t think you can be nice about something, maybe avoid the talk until the energy clears. Something else this energy can bring up is deception. If your gut is telling you someone is lying or omitting important info, this aspect may increase the odds of that, so go with your gut!

January 19 ~ Venus in Sagittarius Square Neptune in Pisces ~

Our freedom-loving friend Sagittarius brings excess and optimism to Venus, ruling love, money, and self-esteem. Now enter Neptune (accentuated by the energy of being in the sign it rules) in a pressured square connection, and things get messy. Miscommunications, dishonesty, overwhelm, disillusionment. Good thing the influence is short. A few days before, the day of, and a few days after and things should be more clear again.

January 25 ~ Mars in Capricorn Square Chiron in Aries ~

The influence of this aspect will last longer than the others listed previously. It could be 10 days or more (5 ish days before and 5ish days after) that it lasts for. There is also some danger associated with this energy as the God of War, Aries (which rules Mars and the sign Chiron is in) clashes with the energy of woundedness. Guard your physical body. If you have a choice to wear a helmet and you think “Ah, it will be fine if I don’t”, now is time to WEAR the HELMET. This can also pertain to other types of attacks. People could be more unreasonable now and angry. Don’t test them. 

On another level, this pressure point push could be the thing you need to take your job, business or productivity to the next level. Working through whatever comes up now can help point you in the direction of greater success.

January 27-28 ~ Sun in Aquarius Square Jupiter in Taurus ~

This is a faster and much lighter transit compared to the others ones I listed but it is good to be aware of. While it can boost confidence, it can do so to the extent that you overestimate your ability and get caught in an embarrassing situation, now or later, after you over-promise now and can’t deliver.

It can also create diffused or scattered efforts, creating mistakes or confusion. If you feel super confident about something now, dial back your commitment based on what you were thinking of promising and you can get the benefits of the transits without the detriment. This will also give you a chance to possibly overdeliver at some point if you keep expectations a bit lower than you might be drawn to.

We have so many sweet aspects this month and some of them shine as my favorites of the bunch. Remember that you can experience the good vibes BEFORE and AFTER the dates listed as the web of influence extends beyond the day of exact connection.

January 9 ~ TWO beautiful aspects ~

Sun in Capricorn Trine Uranus in Taurus  

This aspect can bring sudden liberation, especially on the material realm.

It can also bring a lightning strike of an inventive idea that could work out in amazing ways.

Originality, innovation, or a sudden solution to a financial issue or something in your mundane experience that really needed a fix could also roll through from this aspect.

Mars in Capricorn Sextile Saturn in Pisces

This transit brings extra stamina and determination. Current effort can see instant rewards or past efforts could show up with gems now. Long-term ventures are especially favorable to make important steps towards. This connection brings exceptional groundedness while also being open to ethereal inspiration. 

January 12 ~ Mars in Capricorn Trine Jupiter in Taurus ~

Confidence, clarity, and certainty tend to go along with this transit. Knowing what needs to be done, how to do it, and then actually doing can all be instigated by this transit. The effects of this transit are at least 5 days before and after the actual transit so there is a nice long time to enjoy its influence. Material decisions are especially favored. Luck and synchronicity may bless financial endeavors. This is a great time to take important steps towards major goals and visions. Even though we are not quite out of the web of the post-shadow transit of Mercury, this can still be a great time to do big things.

January 19 ~ Mercury in Capricorn Trine Jupiter in Taurus ~

Great news can often come in from this transit. This is also a time that can have extra blessings for conveying something important (like a big business pitch or interview) or enhancing a writing or speaking project. The perfect words are more likely to flow and although they may be succinct, they can really hit the mark. The days around this transit may bring an important email or letter with life-changing news.

Venus in Capricorn Sextile Saturn in Pisces

For several days before and after this transit, discipline may be easier to muster, especially along the lines of relationships and finances. Divine inspiration may bring new life into a project or personal connection. Important conversations may occur and extremely vital commitments may be made. This is an awesome time to take a big life step, especially if the signs from the Universe seem to be clear. Romantic encounters of consequence could come up. Someone you meet now romantically or in a business context could play an important and long-term role in your life.

Mercury in Capricorn Trine Uranus in Taurus

In the days around this transit look for surprise advancement, great news, sudden insights and solutions to zap in. Fresh ideas could bust up stodginess. Sudden business opportunities could present and the timing is perfect astrologically for saying yes. We are out of the Mercury retro post-shadow period and it is time to make your new webs, far and wide, get your boat off of the deserted island with the help of strong tides pushing you outward, and it is time to send your message in a bottle onto the waves to reach its perfect destination. It is a time that is blessed for action and accomplishment.

This is one of my all-time favorite aspects. In the days around this transit, the chance for luck in love, finances, self-love, are all increased. Optimism regarding any Venus-ruled areas and the feeling of expansion or freedom are also more likely. A long-awaited material item may finally come to you. Healing could come to a relationship issue. This can be a great time for dating and making other social or business contacts. I love, love, love this time for making important business, work, money, love, relationship, or other big decisions or taking major steps.
