Expect confusion, uncertainty, difficulty in planning for the future, changes to current and future plans, and last-minute opportunities (I like to call LAST-MINUTE MAGIC).

 

Short-term plans, agreements, and commitments are favored.

 

Scheduling lightly is also a great idea.

Trying things one without permanent commitment is great now.

 

This period favors study and education programs, especially ones with flexibility.

 

Mercury retrograde issues, opportunities, and cautions are strong throughout the ENTIRE cycle, including the pre and post shadow periods!

 

4. Venus goes direct but the shadow period lasts through March 2 -

 

Money, love, beauty, self-esteem, aesthetics topics from the past coming up again.

 

Avoid major decisions that are not easily changeable along these fronts unless it is easily changed, flexible, not an issue if you change your mind.

 

It is a great time for low budget fix-up’s that are easily changed or adjusted.

 

Experimentation is wonderful for this time.

January 5 -- Venus in Capricorn Sextile Neptune in Pisces -- This transit has the potential to act as a bridge between the creative/spiritual dimensions of your life, and your finances/practical affairs. This may arise in the form of a renewed sense of direction, or a chain of good ideas evolving in tandem with creative or spiritual processes.

 

January 8 -- Sun Conjunct Venus in Capricorn -- This transit has the power to increase your powers of attraction, and refine what you are attracted to. Your self-image is likely to become more positive, and this will in turn add to your magnetism.  Opportunities to experience pleasure in multiple ways are very likely to arise. Some can benefit you, others can derail you. All you need to do is maintain your ability to know the difference between them. Enhancement of finances can come from this connection or a money-making idea.

 

January 9 -- Mercury in Aquarius Sextile Chiron in Aries -- This transit may inspire innovative, original thinking that can favorably contribute to your most current, active healing processes. This is an excellent time to increase your knowledge base and skillset surrounding one or more areas of your life that tend to weigh you down.

 

January 10 --  Sun in Capricorn Sextile Neptune in Pisces -- This transit can help you broaden, deepen, and refine your understanding of the multitude of systems that govern every aspect of your life, and connect you to every other.  You are likely to be flooded with positive feelings and good sensations, coupled with a deep appreciation for the pursuit of genuine purpose and meaning.

 

January 11 -- Mars in Sagittarius Square Neptune in Pisces -- You may feel tempted to exaggerate or gravitate towards extreme ideas and/or behavior under the influence of this transit. However, you will be working with a powerful imagination that can be steered in a more productive direction. Personal responsibility will be the magic ingredient.

 

January 14 -- Mercury Retrograde Begins (shadow period started Dec. 29, 2021 - retrograde goes from Jan. 14 - Feb. 3, 2022 - post-transit shadow goes through February 23, 2022) -- When Mercury is in its retrograde cycle, communication and technology become more susceptible to disruption.  Because of this, it is wise to hold off on signing contracts, launching anything of importance, or entering into any situation that depends on everything going "as planned."  Instead, it is better to use this time for research, planning, and the slow and steady development of clear visions.

 

January 16 -- Sun Conjunct Pluto in Capricorn --  This transit can cause things to devolve into chaos, or evolve into order. With this raw, primordial energy, there is a strong chance of experiencing anxiety, or power struggles. However, if channelled wisely with accountability, honesty, and responsibility, this can be an excellent opportunity to embody the remedy. To bring balance, to be the voice of reason, and to instill sanity, you must be willing to own your own and process your emotional energy in real-time. Allowing others to do the same is likely to prove fruitful. Sobering reality checks are more likely at this time but equally as likely are accomplishments, recognition, and support for your ideas or ventures.

 

January 17 -- Full Moon at 27° of Cancer -- This day may be supercharged with raw emotional energy. Everyone will feel it, and this will be most obvious among family members. You are likely to become saturated by the emotional energy of those you know best, in part because of how well you know them.  Therefore, it is important to refrain from projecting, expecting people to feel a certain way, or preemptively reacting to such feelings.  Everyone must work with this intense emotional energy in their own way, untainted by the projections and expectations of others. The odds are increased of water being in places it shouldn’t. Things involving homes, housing, or real estate are likely to come front and center. January 18 -- Uranus Goes Direct - Mercury in Aquarius Sextile Chiron in Aries --  When Uranus goes direct, you can expect a shift in perspective to follow. If you feel resistant to a change of mind,  try to take a few steps beyond merely embracing change, and actually seek it out! The influence of Uranus tends to be unpredictable, and one of the ways to manage its mischief is to take a proactive approach. Demonstrate to Uranus, and to yourself that you are willing to act as the conduit of change, and you will have a lot more say in the nature of the change itself. The nice aspect with Mercury and Chiron can bring awesome connections with others and the feeling like you are understood and belong. Sudden insights or meetings could bring seemingly random opportunities that could quickly show their Divine design.

 

January 23 -- Sun Conjunct Mercury in Aquarius --  You are likely to feel a boost of mental energy on this day. You may find it easier to concentrate, remember details, articulate ideas, and comprehend complexities.  Therefore, this is a great day to put your mental faculties to use. This is a great social aspect and the odds of sweet or important connections to others occurring now are multiplied. Community efforts and things with friends or groups are very well-supported.

 

January 28 -- Sun in Aquarius Sextile Chiron in Aries -- Mercury Conjunct Pluto in Capricorn --  The sextile may simply inform you of precisely what you need to do to improve your circumstances.  Whether you are experiencing challenges or setbacks in your physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual body, this transit can be like a highlighter pen. This can be frustrating, illuminating, or both. The conjunction could manifest as a kind of "system reset," allowing you to return to the foundations of a project, belief, or habit. This may be very frustrating at first, but it can allow you to determine which smaller parts are worthy of their greater structure, and worthy of your continued investment. The conjunction with Pluto and Mercury can bring major news or important communications. Pluto always brings the potential of a mixed bag - one the challenging side, topics of power, and people not using it wisely, is always possible, on the positive side it can represent resources and someone helping you with theirs (or vice versa).

 

January 29 -- Venus Goes Direct -- The Venus retrograde saga started around November 18, 2021 when the pre-transit shadow period began. Venus enters retrograde December 19, 2021 and now the retrograde ends on January 29, 2022 with the post-transit shadow period going until March 2. This lengthy transit brings a review to your relationships, finances, artistic endeavors and design projects, appearance and self-esteem. Now direct, the Venus goggles will start to wear off and more clarity is likely to start coming into the arenas affected by the transit.

 

January 31/February 1 -- New Moon at 12° of Aquarius -- Now is the time to set intentions in line with the qualities and themes of Aquarius. In what ways could you expand upon your perceptions of the future? How might you take a more visionary, or progressive approach to your part in the creation of the hypothetical world of tomorrow?  It is also important to consider how you could contribute to the increased connectivity and clarity of vision between members of your various social and professional networks.  In some time zones, this moon is actually a “Black Moon” which is defined as either the second new moon in a sign or calendar month.
